Teaching Performance Assessment

The State of California requires a Teaching Performance Assessment (TPA) as one of the final requirements of credential students before they become teachers. At Humboldt, we use EdTPA, the Performance Assessment for California Teachers to fulfill this requirement.

For the Teaching Event (TE), candidates follow procedures outlined in the edTPA Handbook and upload their completed Teaching Events (see calendar of due dates below). The Teaching Events are scored by trained scorers. Candidates receive their score reports and debrief individually with EED faculty. If necessary, candidates may repeat edTPA and resubmit the product for scoring.
