We are currently accepting applications for Fall 2024!

Geared toward working education professionals, the master’s program deepens your understanding of important issues affecting education today and helps you to develop more effective strategies to meet the needs of students of all ages.

Work closely with faculty who are dedicated to supporting your growth and success with a focus on critical pedagogy, equity and social justice, and rigorous research -- all in a collaborative environment. Courses are offered exclusively online and in the evenings, providing a convenient and flexible schedule.

However, you don’t need to be a teacher or have a credential to apply. Students from all disciplines are welcome to apply!

Applicants for admission to the M.A. Ed. program must:

hold an acceptable baccalaureate degree from a regionally-accredited institution (or equivalent academic preparation).
be in good academic standing at the last university attended.
have a GPA of at least 3.0 in the last 60 semester units attempted (90 quarter units).

Applicants who are denied admissions can appeal the admissions decision. The appeal will be reviewed by the admissions committee including the chair, program leader and program coordinator.

**Area of Emphasis: Courses are selected in consultation with an advisor to complete additional 12 unit requirements. 12 units may be satisfied by educational leadership, elementary education, secondary education, special education post-baccalaureate credential courses with advisor approval if course completion meets the 7 years course currency requirement. (All courses must be completed within 7 years prior to graduation.)
