Job description

I'm a Behavior Analyst working with Preschool-5th graders, supporting students with behavior excesses to teach skills necessary to get their needs met in a more socially acceptable manner.

Why did you choose this program?

I chose the teaching program at Humboldt State University because I enjoyed being a California native, but had never explored beautiful Northern California. Humboldt is captivating, diverse, and has so much to offer.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

Graduating from the teaching program at HSU helped prepare me by exposing me to the world of education, allowing me to see the needs of the student population, and better understand how I could support the needs of students and families.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

I enjoyed the camaraderie that was created between faculty and students, a mutual respect as we learners developed our skills and grew in our field.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

Humboldt State has a great deal to offer individuals pursuing a teaching credential. The incredibly beautiful campus to study on, talented and passionate professors, engaging courses, and a plethora of people groups to engage with.
